This website uses the Web Audio API pushed to an extreme, turning the browser into a multi-instrument electronic music generator.

Modeled largely after Roland’s line of electronic music instruments, Javascript code attempts to replicate the functionality and sound of these instruments from the 1980s and 1990s while updating with new features.

This experiment also reflects a decades-long approach on how to use media beyond their intended capabilities.
